Understanding Product Button Actions
When you attach a product to a video scene, you can control exactly what happens when a customer interacts with the "Call to Action" button inside the player.
You can find this setting in the Product section of your scene setup, under the dropdown labeled Button Action.
Here is a breakdown of each option and when to use it:
1. Add to Cart
What it does: Adds the product directly to the customer's cart. The customer stays on the current page so they can continue watching the video.
Best Use Case: Perfect for low-friction shopping where you want customers to browse and buy multiple items without interrupting their viewing experience.
2. Go to Cart
What it does: Adds the product to the cart and immediately redirects the customer to the Cart page.
Best Use Case: Use this if you want to encourage customers to review their order immediately after selecting an item.
3. Checkout
What it does: Bypasses the cart and sends the customer directly to the Shopify Checkout page with the product added.
Best Use Case: Best for high-intent "impulse buy" products or single-product funnels where you want to close the sale as quickly as possible.
4. Link
What it does: Redirects the customer to a specific URL (usually the Product Detail Page).
Best Use Case: Use this for products that require complex customization (like uploading a file or choosing detailed options) that needs to be done on the full product page. It is also great for linking to blog posts or external landing pages.
5. No Action
What it does: This disables the primary action button.
Behavior: When a customer clicks the video scene from the storefront, it will simply open the popup to display the product and video, but there will be no "Buy" or "Add to Cart" button available.
Best Use Case: Ideal for "Coming Soon" products, informational videos where you aren't ready to sell yet, or purely aesthetic showcases where you just want to highlight the product card without a hard sell.
