How to Add a Floating Video (Sticky Reel)
A "Floating Reel" is a video player that sticks to the bottom corner of your customer's screen. Unlike a carousel that disappears when they scroll past it, the Floating Reel stays visible, acting like a "video assistant" that follows them as they browse.
Step 1: Create a "Floating Reel" Journey
Go to the ReelTok Dashboard.
Click Create Journey.
For the "Type," select Floating Reel (instead of Carousel or Story).
Give it a name (e.g., "Site-Wide Sticky Video") and click Create.
Step 2: Customize the Position
Since this widget floats over your website content, positioning is key.
Click on the Customize tab.
Look for Position Settings.
Bottom Right vs. Bottom Left:
Recommendation: If you have a Chat Bubble (like Intercom or Tidio) on the right, place your Floating Reel on the Left to avoid overlapping.
Mobile Visibility: You can often choose to hide this on mobile if you feel it takes up too much screen space.
Step 3: Add to Your Store
Go to your Shopify Theme Editor (Customize).
Where to place it: Unlike carousels, you don't need to place this inside a specific section. We recommend adding the ReelTok Block to the Footer section of your theme.
Paste your Journey ID.
Because it is a "Floating" type, the app will automatically detach it from the footer and stick it to the corner of the screen.
Best Practice: What Videos Work Best?
Welcome Videos: A founder saying "Hi, thanks for visiting!" works great on the Home Page.
Support/FAQ: A video answering "Shipping Times" or "Returns" works well site-wide to reduce support tickets.
