Why was I charged more than my monthly plan?
If your invoice is higher than your standard monthly subscription, it is due to Overage Charges for exceeding your plan's impression limit.
1. How Billing Works
Your ReelTok plan consists of two parts:
Base Subscription: Includes a set number of impressions per month (e.g., 100,000).
Overage Protection: To protect your sales, we never shut off your videos if you exceed this limit. Instead, we continue serving them and charge a small fee per 1,000 additional impressions.
2. Common Causes for High Usage
An "Impression" occurs every time the ReelTok widget loads on a visitor's screen. High usage is often caused by:
Site-Wide Widgets: Placing a video in the Footer or Header loads it on every page view, accumulating impressions very quickly.
Viral Traffic: A successful ad campaign or social media post driving a spike in visitors.
3. How to Verify Your Usage
You can check your real-time data to confirm the charges:
Open the ReelTok Dashboard.
View the Impressions Overview bar at the top.
It displays your Current Usage vs. Plan Limit (e.g., "150,000 / 100,000").
4. How to Reduce Costs
If you consistently exceed your limit, staying on a lower plan is more expensive.
The Math: The "pay-as-you-go" overage rate is higher than the bulk rate of a larger plan.
The Fix: Upgrading to the next tier increases your limit and lowers your effective cost-per-view.
