How to Add a Journey to All Products in a Collection
If you want to show a specific video Journey on every product within a specific collection (e.g., your "Summer Sale" collection), you can do this in two ways.
For a visual walkthrough of this process, please check out our demo here: https://app.supademo.com/demo/cmkkxrf1w2wd51363igonymz7?utm_source=link
Option 1: The Bulk Edit Method (Using Metafields)
Best if you already use the "ReelTok Journey ID" metafield and want to quickly paste the ID for many products at once.
Prerequisite: Ensure you have created the Product Metafield as shown in our "How to add different journey per product" guide.
Filter by Collection: Go to Shopify Admin > Products. Click Search & Filter, select Collection, and choose the collection you want to update.
Select All: Check the box at the very top of the list to select all loaded products. (If you have more than 50 products, make sure to click "Select all 50+ items in this store").
Open Bulk Editor: Click the Bulk Edit button that appears at the bottom of the screen.
Add Metafield Column: If you don't see your
ReelTok Journey IDcolumn, click Columns (top right of the table), scroll to Metafields, and select it.Paste & Fill:
Paste your Journey ID into the first product's row.
Click the bottom-right corner of that cell and drag it down to apply it to all other rows (just like a spreadsheet).
Save: Click Save in the top right.
Option 2: The Template Method
Best if you want a permanent "rule" where these products always have a specific layout and video.
Step 1: Create a New Template
Go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize.
At the top center dropdown, select Products > Create template.
Name it (e.g.,
summer-collection) and base it on Default product. In this new template, add the ReelTok Widget and paste your specific Journey ID directly into the settings.
Click Save.
Step 2: Assign Products to the Template
Go back to Shopify Admin > Products.
Filter by your Collection (same as Option 1).
Select all products in the list.
Click Bulk Edit.
Find the Template column. Change the first product's template to your new
summer-collectiontemplate.Drag/Fill down to update the rest of the list and click Save.
