How to Add a Thumbnail to a Journey Scene

Custom thumbnails are a great way to ensure your video journeys look professional and engaging before a user even hits play. Follow these steps to upload a custom image for any specific scene.

From the main ReelTok dashboard, look under the Shoppable Video Journeys section. Click on the specific journey (e.g., Carousel, Story, or Floating Reel) that contains the scene you wish to edit.

Once inside the journey editor, you will see a list of individual video scenes. Click on the specific scene card where you want to add or change the thumbnail.

Inside the scene editor, you will see your video preview on the left and a Thumbnail section on the right. Click the Add Thumbnail button located in the empty thumbnail slot.

A pop-up window titled "Upload thumbnail" will appear. You can either drag and drop your file into the window or click the Add image button to select a file from your device.

Once the image is uploaded, it will appear next to your video preview. You do not need to click a manual "Save" button for this specific action; the thumbnail image is saved automatically for that scene.

Tip: Each scene in your journey has its own individual thumbnail settings, allowing you to customize the look of every segment of your video journey.
