Configure Video Playback: Autoplay & Auto-Advance Settings

Edited

Learn how to control how your videos play, loop, and scroll to the next scene automatically.

Where to find these settings

  1. Open your ReelTok Dashboard.

  2. Click on the Journey you want to edit.

  3. Go to the Customize tab.

  4. Look for the "Autoplay settings" section on the left-hand sidebar.

1. Setting up Autoplay

You can choose if the video starts moving immediately when a customer sees it, or if it waits for them to click.

  • Autoplay (Checkbox):

    • Enabled: The video will start playing silently as soon as it loads on the screen. This is recommended for capturing attention.

    • Disabled: The video will show a static thumbnail with a "Play" button.

2. Managing Performance (Crucial)

If you have multiple videos on one page (e.g., a grid of 6 videos), playing them all at once can slow down your site. You can control this with the second checkbox:

  • "Autoplay at the same time":

    • Unchecked (Recommended): Videos will play one by one. When the first video finishes or the user scrolls past it, the next one starts. This saves your site's loading speed.

    • Checked: All videos on the screen will play simultaneously.

    • Warning: Only use "Checked" if you have very few videos (1-2) on the page.
